Forced pregnancy tests

Today I wrote an article over on the Curvy Girl Guide. I think it’s important. A school in Louisiana had a policy of testing female students to see if they were pregnant. If they refused or were actually pregnant they had two choices; 1) pursue home study or, 2) find a new school.

The school has since done a 180 on the policy, claiming they didn’t know it was super illegal, but the point is still relevant. They didn’t want to give these girls the same opportunities as everyone else an they only relented when faced with a law suit. Isn’t that completely the opposite of what an educator should want to do? Just completely boggles my mind…
